Laptops also come with less performance than their desktop equivalent in specs, since laptop parts cannot be cooled as efficiently as desktop ones.

Laptops are always significantly more expensive than desktop PCs for the same specs, because they also offer limited space and portability. IMPORTANT common mistake going for a laptop when on a small budget is crippling your specs or/and your wallet. Choosing to just buy HD and keep a system like yours is (very) hard compromise. This is an extremely high value low cost investment that lasts for years, you just have no better alternatives. Trust me, the difference you'll see compared to you current system is MASSIVE.

You need a decent PC anyways for most other things apart from playing games, so my advice checks out and will help you with literally anything you want to do. You can reduce the price even more going for used parts, but it's not really worth it imo. If you somehow don't have that money available, work part time for 1 or 2 months and you're all set.

This would be ~500$ for a new basic desktop system (non prebuilt - you choose and buy the individual parts yourself, which will save you money). A low end desktop should be within reach for everyone that has the time to play AoE2, and there are no exceptions to that. My advice is consider not buying any games until you have enough money to buy an actually functional system. It's requirements are of a low end system too, so no particular worries there, it's just your system being abysmally old that is an issue.

So I genuinely think you can get away with getting HD if you plan to never play multiplayer.ģ) AoE2 DE has issues, but it's getting patched consistently and most of the playerbase (even the pro scene) has transitioned to it. Paying for HD is a mistake if you care to play multiplayer. Multiplayer on HD lags on a 2000$ system, let alone in yours. r/projectceleste - Age of Empires Onlineġ) You should not have a system like that in 2020.Ģ) AoE2 HD is such a bad product it should never have been in the Steam store in the first place in the state that it got released and still is now.
